Participation in a UniSA Approved Virtual Mobility Program
These terms and conditions set out requirements for participation in a UniSA apprived virtual mobility progam leading to academic recognition including full semester and short-term study, study tours, placements, internships, research projects, conferences, and summer/winter school programs. All students applying to participate in a virtual mobility program must agree to these terms. 

1. Defined terms
In these terms and conditions:

Virtual Mobility Program means the mobility program approved by UniSA:
  1. for which I have applied;
  2. for which I have been approved; or
  3. in which I am participating.

Host means the partner institution, host provider, mobility experience provider or other entity facilitating the Virtual Mobility Program.

2. Risk of participating in a Virtual Mobility Program
  1. I understand that participating in the Virtual Mobility Program may have elements of risk to person and property.
  2. I accept responsibility for my own actions and my decision to take part in the Virtual Mobility Program.

3. General requirements
  1. I understand that being accepted into the Virtual Mobility Program is not a guarantee of final approval to participate in that Virtual Mobility Program.  I agree to provide additional information as required by UniSA for the purposes of determining whether to approve my participation in the Virtual Mobility Program.
  2. I acknowledge that UniSA may prevent or cancel student participation in a mobility program if it becomes evident to UniSA that:
    1. adequate arrangements have not been made to protect student health, safety or wellbeing;
    2. UniSA has significant concerns for an applicant or participant’s health or wellbeing;
    3. the mobility program does not meet UniSA’s required standards; or
    4. political or other changes have occurred in the host country that cause concern about the possible reputational impacts of participation in the virtual mobility program.
  3. I understand that I will remain subject to UniSA statutes, by-laws, codes, policies, procedures and rules, including the Code of Conduct for Students, during the Virtual Mobility Program.
  4. I understand that any breach of UniSA statutes, by-laws, codes, policies, procedures and rules while participating in the Virtual Mobility Program may result in disciplinary action in accordance with University rules and policies.
  5. I understand that the UniSA Student Mobility Policy and Student Mobility Procedures will apply to the Virtual Mobility Program.  I will comply with the Student Mobility Policy and Student Mobility Procedures, and with all associated guidelines during the Virtual Mobility Program.
  6. I agree to familiarise myself with, and follow, all reasonable instructions given by UniSA or the Host regarding health, safety and wellbeing.  I agree to pay for any costs associated with following the reasonable instructions of UniSA or the Host.
  7. I understand that it is my responsibility to organise computing facilities and internet access for the duration of the Virtual Mobility Program.
  8. I agree to have full access to the internet to participate and complete the Virtual Mobility Program. If I encounter any internet connection issues impeding my ability to participate effectively I will notify UniSA and the Host immediately.
  9. I understand that I am not eligible for any UniSA travel grants, other UniSA subsidies, or any OS-HELP loans whilst completing my studies virtually. External third party or Government grants facilitated by the UniSA Study Overseas team may apply to the Virtual Mobility Program, but I understand that UniSA makes no guarantees in this regard.
  10. I understand that I will be undertaking the Virtual Mobility Program online only and that I will not be covered by UniSA Travel Insurance.
  11. I agree to ensure that I have adequate funds available to cover all costs associated with my participation in the Virtual Mobility Program, including costs for internet access.
  12. I understand that I am responsible for my own health, safety and wellbeing while I am participating in the Virtual Mobility Program. I agree to ensure that I have the mental fitness and aptitude to undertale the Virtual Mobility Program. I agree to familiarize myself with available UniSA support services which I can access if I require any assistance. I also agree to notify UniSA if I am struggling with online study.
  13. If I am an International Student, I understand it is my responsibility to ensure that participating in the Virtual Mobility Program will not result in a breach of my student visa conditions. If I am a sponsored international student then I understand that I will require the permission of my sponsor to participate in the Virtual Mobility Program.
  14. I consent to my details (full name, UniSA email address, Virtual Mobility Program details and other relevant information) being provided by UniSA to the Host in relation to my participation in the Virtual Mobility Program. 
  15. I will inform UniSA immediately if my circumstances alter or I become aware that information I have provided to UniSA in connection with my participation in the Virtual Mobility Program is incomplete or incorrect.  
  16. I understand that UniSA may vary or revoke any decision it has made regarding my participation in the Virtual Mobility Program if information I have provided is incomplete or incorrect, and any of the consequences described in clause 9 may apply.
  17. I will inform UniSA immediately in writing, if there are any changes to the Virtual Mobility Program, including:
    1. cancellation of the Virtual Mobility Program;
    2. my withdrawal from the Virtual Mobility Program;
    3. termination of my participation in the Virtual Mobility Program;
    4. any change to courses offered during the Virtual Mobility Program;
    5. any change of the Host or duration of the Virtual Mobility Program; or
    6. any other material change to the Virtual Mobility Program.
  18. I understand that my continued involvement in the Program is subject to UniSA approving any changes to the Virtual Mobility Program.  If changes are not approved by UniSA, I understand that my participation in the Virtual Mobility Program may be terminated.
  19. I will provide UniSA with a copy of any agreement with a Host which I execute in regard to the Virtual Mobility Program.


4. Costs

  1. I agree to meet all costs associated with my participation in the Virtual Mobility Program.  These costs may vary depending on the nature of the Virtual Mobility Program.
  2. I acknowledge that the costs of participating in the Virtual Mobility Program are additional to the fees for course enrolment in my UniSA course or program.
  3. I acknowledge that if I withdraw from the Virtual Mobility Program less than four weeks before the scheduled commencement date of the Virtual Mobility Program (or other withdrawal date notified to me) then I may be charged a withdrawal fee, and may forfeit any deposits or payments which I have already paid.

5. Prior to the Virtual Mobility Program

  1. I will provide UniSA with accurate contact information and will keep these details up-to-date during the Virtual Mobility Program
  2.   I agree to participate in, and complete, all official pre‐departure activities and tasks as organised by UniSA prior to commencement of the Virtual Mobility Program, to undertake reasonable research of my intended host region and country and to ensure I am prepared for my experience, both academically and culturally.

6. While on the Virtual Mobility Program

  1. I agree to participate in all official orientation activities during the Virtual Mobility Program.
  2. I agree to attend all classes, seminars or other scheduled academic activities in order to fulfil UniSA degree requirements.  I agree to undertake all program requirements at the local time(s) required.  I acknowledge that these times may be outside of times I would ordinarily be studying.  I acknowledge that these time zone details were provided to me prior to my commencement of the Virtual Mobility Program.
  3. I understand that while I am a participant of the Virtual Mobility Program, I am a representative of UniSA and I will conduct myself according to the principles and expectations outlined in the UniSA Code of Conduct for Students (https://i.unisa.edu.au/policies-and-procedures/codes/students/), and Statute No. 7 – Student Misconduct (https://i.unisa.edu.au/policies-and-procedures/act-statutes-and-by-laws/university-of-south-australia-statutes/#p7).
  4. I will treat all participants in the Virtual Mobility Program, including UniSA and Host staff and students, with courtesy and respect at all times.
  5. I understand that while participating in the Virtual Mobility Program I must obey all applicable rules and regulations of UniSA and the Host.
  6. I understand that studying online may be difficult and different to what I am used to, and that external factors may affect my ability to keep up with my course workload. This may include time zones, cultural differences, teaching methods, and no lack of face-to-face contact with students or staff. I agree to reach out for support UniSA if I am not keeping up with my course workload, or am otherwise struggling with online learning.
  7. I will participate diligently in the Virtual Mobility Program.  I will seek assistance or counselling as necessary to ensure I can participate effectively in the Virtual Mobility Program.
  8. I agree to check my UniSA email account regularly while I am participating in the Virtual Mobility Program to ensure that I receive important information from UniSA and can respond in a timely manner.

7. After the Virtual Mobility Program

  1. If requested by UniSA, I will provide a report regarding my participation in the Virtual Mobility Program within six weeks of the Virtual Mobility Program ending.  I grant an irrevocable, royalty and fee free licence to UniSA to use, copy, publish and distribute the report and any associated photos for educational and promotional purposes.
  2. I understand that upon conclusion of the Virtual Mobility Program, I will complete all reporting and assessment requirements by UniSA within a satisfactory period of time.  I am aware that failure to complete such reports and requirements may result in a Fail / Incomplete / Unsatisfactory result for the UniSA equivalent unit.

8. Promotion of the Virtual Mobility Program
  1. I agree to assist UniSA with the promotion and facilitation of virtual mobility experiences, such as participating in student-facing events, or in campaigns.
  2. I consent to UniSA using my name and/or image for the purposes of promoting mobility programs. I consent to UniSA disclosing my name and information regarding my participation in the Virtual Mobility Program for the purpose of promoting mobility programs.

9. Consequences of breaching these terms and conditions

  1. I understand that violation of these terms and conditions may result in one or more of the following consequences:
    1. my participation in the Virtual Mobility Program being terminated;
    2. forfeiting some or all fees and charges paid for the Virtual Mobility Program;
    3. disciplinary action in accordance with UniSA’s or the Host’s rules and policies, if my conduct breaches the UniSA Code of Conduct for Students, Statute No. 7 – Student Misconduct or any other misconduct policy of UniSA or the Host;
    4. cancellation of any pre-approval for academic recognition relating to my participation in the Virtual Mobility Program;
    5. the receipt of a fail grade for course or program requirements related to the Virtual Mobility Program; or
    6. being required to refund any scholarships, grants or loans I have received from UniSA or the Host in respect of the Virtual Mobility Program.
  2. I understand that I may be ineligible to participate in other mobility programs offered by UniSA if I breach these terms and conditions.


Agreement

By submitting an application for the Virtual Mobility Program I:

  1. indicate that I comply with the eligibility requirements for the Virtual Mobility Program, including those requirements set out in the Student Mobility Procedure; and
  2. agree to the Terms and Conditions for Participation in a UniSA Approved Virtual mobility program (as set out in this document).
